Energy!

February 4, 2017

Welcome to 2017!

I decided to hold off writing the first blog post until February because if you're anything like me, January tends to be one of those 'bits and pieces' months where some people are still on holidays, the kids haven't gone back to school yet and Christmas is still too close to forget about! So....here we are.

Here in Australia, summer is nearly over and soon (hopefully), the weather will start to cool down as we move into Autumn (which just happens to be my favourite season).

As we enter the new year and the routines of everyday life return, it can be a time where some people may find themselves starting to feel overwhelmed after the busyness of the Christmas season and the start of the school year.

I find that many clients I see in clinic are feeling tired at this time of the year and wonder how they are going to make it through the next 11 months until the next round of Christmas holidays. Well, the answer is that unless the tiredness is from a few too many late nights or a bad night's sleep, there may be something else going on that needs to be looked into.

So here are a few things that you can start to monitor and, if necessary, start to address in order to regain your energy.

1/ Are you giving yourself the opportunity to sleep for 7 - 8 hours at night?

2/ Have you been eating an excessive amount of sugar during the Christmas period which has carried over into the new year?

3/ Are you eating foods that you know you are sensitive to?

4/ Are you experiencing unusual amounts of stress?

5/ Are you drinking multiple cups of coffee during the day/night?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, try making some changes in these 5 areas so that you give your body the opportunity to start to recover and lose the fatigue.

Here's to a great year, filled with radiant health and energy!
